XML is this weird thing that was invented over 20 years ago as an early web solution for encoding data. It is now 2019 and we are still building apps using this archaic format! How did we get here? Why are we still doing this? And why should we change now? In this session I will cover the benefits of abandoning XML defined UIs, and how Contour - a recently open-sourced Cash App library - is a good alternative.
