Pitfalls of Mixing Kotlin & Java

Bob Dahlberg

Android Developer

I have been a developer since I started my first company at high school. I've built large campaign frameworks, several video players and chats, streaming services, mobile apps and micro services to support them. At the moment my main languages are Kotlin, Java and Scala and my main platforms are Android and AWS. I've always been an asynchronous programmer since day one and was used to work both reactive and functional before it became hipp. At the moment me and a couple of friends are on a mission to try to make a tech imprint for a better world at Hedy Tech.

I've been involved with my fair share of android projects being transposed to Kotlin from Java. I'd like to share my best tips and common pitfalls when doing this transition and how I would go about it if I'd do it today.
